Gary Barnett’s next big project could quickly be the beneficiary of a mortgage of historic proportions.

JPMorgan Chase is in discussions to spearhead financing for Extell Growth’s supertall mission on the former ABC headquarters website on the Higher West Aspect, Bloomberg reported. Barnett is in search of $3.8 billion in financing, which might be one of many largest such packages ever.

Extell and JPMorgan each declined to touch upon the talks.

In April, Extell filed plans for an 86-story, 1,200-foot-tall supertall at 80 West 67th Road on the previous Disney/ABC campus, which incorporates 430 residential models and 25,000 sq. toes of retail area.

Barnett’s been eyeing a supertall on the neighborhood campus for some time. Final Could, he appeared before a community board, a part of an effort to keep away from a prolonged authorized battle. He went so far as providing to construct greater than 100 inexpensive models throughout two smaller buildings to appease neighborhood members.

However neighborhood members and the native councilmember pushed for much more inexpensive housing.

“We undoubtedly need lots of inexpensive models and it must be on-site,” Councilmember Gale Brewer mentioned on the time.

Extell paid Silverstein Properties and Seven Valleys roughly $930 million in 2022 for the previous Walt Disney Firm-owned ABC campus and landed at least $900 million in acquisition financing from Guggenheim Companions and Aquarian Holdings.

Barnett is not any stranger to huge mortgage packages. This month, Extell finalized $1.25 billion in development financing for “The Torch,” a Occasions Sq. supertall mission, together with an $1.1 billion development mortgage led by none aside from JPMorgan, in addition to a $150 million mezzanine mortgage.

The 60-story improvement at 740 Eighth Avenue is two-thirds full and can characteristic a 1,800-room resort, 130,000 sq. toes of promoting area and a 250-foot amusement journey.
